Jon is a professional mountain guide and the president of Leadclimb Mountaineering school based in Chengdu, China. He also directs design teams at the outdoor equipment brand, KAILAS. Jon studied Chinese in Beijing University in 1990, and can speak, read and write Chinese fluently. He pioneered many new routes on unclimbed peaks in China. Jon’s positive influence on the development of climbing in China cannot be understated. He is passionate about the mountains, education, and the environment.
